The Rahway River Parkway consists of over 950 acres of parkland and includes Rahway River Park and Milton Lake Park, Hanson Park, McConnell Park, Hampton Park, Sperry Park, Osceola Park, and Nomahegan Park, Lenape Park, Meisel Ave Park and Washington Ave Park, and Larchmont Park. All of these parks are connected to form the Rahway River Parkway.
It was originally designed by the famous Olmsted Firm (the same company which designed the famous Central Park in New York) and is one of the United States’ oldest and surviving Greenways. The original concept of the Rahway River Parkway was to be able to give the residents of Union County somewhere that they could always walk and enjoy beautiful rivers, forests, and paths.
